Wine-app draws attwention in Silicon Valley
Heini Zachariasen from the Faroe Islands started Vivino.
The popular wine app Vivino is attracting investors in Silicon Valley, and its Faroese founder has received several offers recently, NORA Region Trends reports.
The app helps consumers identify wines through photo recognition technology, and has since it's launch in 2010 grown to more than 6 million users.
Heini Zachariasen from the Faroe Islands started Vivino together with Danish Theis Søndergaard. While Vivino still has its headquartes in Copenhagen, Denmark, these days Heini is busy promoting the app in Silicon Valley, and has set up a department there.
