Hvalfangst gir amerikansk nei
Island får ikke delta på en global konferanse om havet i Washington DC denne uken. USAs regjering sier nei fordi Island fortsatt driver hvalfangst.
NORA Region Trends beretter:
Our Ocean is hosted by US Secretary of State John Kerry, and will bring together policy-makers and expert scientists from all across the world to discuss challenges - including acidification and overfishing - facing the world's oceans.
The US State Department said relations with Iceland continue to be good, but Iceland did not receive an invitation to the conference due to the country's continued whaling practice.
Earlier this year, US President Barack Obama openly criticised Iceland's whaling.
