Young Ambassadors Wanted in Reykjavik
Young Ambassadors is a joint project between Reykjavík City and Wroclaw, Poland. Both cities are members of the Council of Europe's, Intercultural Cities network.
According to RUV, the project has announced that it is looking for young people of foreign origin, aged 13 to 16, living in Reykjavík.
Ten will be selected and get to meet and work with other young people of foreign origin living in Reykjavík. They will learn about Human Rights and democracy, prejudice, and hate speech, and have opportunities to boost self-confidence, communication, and leadership skills, as well as to travel to meet young people in similar procjects.
Reykjavík City's Human Rights & Democracy Office received support from the Council of Europe for this project. It aims to increase inclusion and participation of young people of foreign origin in community discussions.
