Will Spend 900 Billion on US Defense Next Year
The Senate of the US Congress has decided that just under 900 billion dollars will be spent on US defense next year, according to The National Defense Magazine - Norway.
The decision lays down guidelines for the Pentagon's spending of money, but in itself does not imply that the money has been allocated. Almost all Republicans in the Senate, as well as a handful of Democrats, voted for the law, which now lands on President Joe Biden's desk for signature.
The law involves an increase of one percent from last year, which Republicans believe is too little. They believe that China poses a major threat to the United States and that more money must therefore be set aside.
