USA to Invest USD 12 million in Greenland

Greenland’s self-rule authority, the Naalakkersuisut, has accepted an American cooperation proposal worth USD 12 million, according to Sermitsiaq.

The means will primarily be implemented as consulting and advisory assistance from American experts, as well as through a strengthening of existing programmes.

The agreement has been a hot potato for quite some time, though Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod now says he regards the new agreement a continuation of relations between the USA and the Realm of the Danish Crown.
