Rune Andersen is New Chief of the Norwegian Joint Headquarters
On Friday, Rune Andersen was appointed vice-admiral in the cabinet and ordered to the position of Chief of the Norwegian Armed Forces' Joint Headquarters (NJHQ), which is located in Northern Norway. He takes office from the time the Ministry of Defense decides.
The chief of NJHQ is in command of the Norwegian Armed Forces' operational activities, both at home and abroad, and is Norwegian Chief of Defense Eirik Kristoffersen's foremost adviser when it comes to operational issues.
"NJHQ is the central hub in the Armed Forces' operational activities and the link to NATO and our allies. I am really looking forward to continuing the important work that is being done, and at the same time continuing the development of the headquarters to meet the new security situation and adapt to a changing NATO," Andersen says in a press release (Norwegian).
