
Mike Thornton served in the U.S. Army for over 30 years as an Armor Officer and helicopter pilot. Early assignments were on the East German & Czechoslovakian border where he trained with other NATO militaries to help defend the continent during the Cold War.
Mike is excited about studying military history and foreign policy having served
six years in Europe and returning numerous times to conduct research. Mike retired as a Colonel and talks and writes frequently about military issues in our evolving world.
Mike is fascinated with the Nordic countries and their history in the post-World War II era. Their spirit of resolve has caused them to collectively confront the Russian threat to European security and to establish a united strategy based on mutual respect.
