New Greenlandic-Danish Agreement for a Stronger Arctic Cyber Defense
Greenland's ability to protect itself from cyber threats is to be strengthened through a new cooperation agreement between Greenland's Agency for Digitisation and the Center for Cyber Security, which belongs to the Danish Defense Intelligence Service. That is reported by Sermitsiaq.
"In recent years, Greenland has seen an increase in cyber attacks against both public authorities and private businesses. It is clear that the international threat level also applies to Greenland," says Múte Bourup Egede, leader of Naalakkersuisut (the Greenlandic government) in a press release.
Through the new agreement, the Center For Cyber Security will contribute with the education and training of employees in the Agency for Digitisation, as well as increase its general advisory efforts towards Greenland. The parties will also map critical infrastructure that may need extra protection.
Greenland drawing on qualified assistance and building up expertise is important, believes Egede.
