Mackerel Moves North

Scientists have now established that the mackerel has moved decidedly further north and northwest in the Norwegian Sea during the 2017-2019 period, according to Kyst og Fjord.

Six vessels from five countries have mapped three million square kilometers ocean in this year’s mackerel and ecosystem expedition. The expedition report demonstrates that there is a large amount of mackerel in the northern and northwestern parts of the Norwegian Sea.

The total amount of mackerel is pretty much the same, but the distribution of mackerel in the different areas has changed significantly and shows a move to the north and northwestern parts of the area from 2017 to 2019.
