Iceland's Social Democratic Alliance received mandate to form government

Halla Tómasdóttir, Iceland's president, has given Kristrún Frostadóttir, the leader of the Social Democratic Alliance, the mandate to form a government.

This is reported by RÙV.

The party received 20.8 percent of the votes. The Independence Party came in second with 19.4 percent.
