Greenland Takes Ownership of Air Greenland

Greenland’s self-rule authorities Naalakkersuisut has agreed with the Danish government and SAS to acquire their shares in Air Greenland, and Greenland will thus be the sole owner of the airline, according to KNR.

Up until now, the Naalakkersuisut has held a 37.5 percent share of Air Greenland, with a similar share portion being held by SAS and 20 percent being held by the Danish government.

The Danish state and SAS’ shares are previously estimated at DKK 461 million. The acquisition will be paid for through Air Greenland’s paying out dividends to the Danish state and SAS.
