Greenland has More Prisoners per Capita Than Any Other European Country

No West European countries come even close to having as many prisoners per capita as does Greenland, according to academic Annemette Nyborg Lauritsen, Sermitsiaq reports.

Within the Realm of the Danish Crown, 12 times as many reports of violence are reported with the police in Greenland compared to in the Faroe Islands, and many criminals end up in prison in Greenland.

Lauritsen says the Faroe Islands has only 21 prisoners per 100,000 capital, whereas Greenland has 225 – more than ten times as many.
