Film Produced in Greenland Wins Award
The Greenlandic production company Ánorâk Film has won an award for the documentary "Music for Black Pigeons" at the Venice Film Festival. That is reported by Sermitsiaq.
Through jazz musicians like Bill Frisell, Lee Konitz, and Midori Takada, the film seeks answers to what it means to be a person who has expressed themselves through music their entire life.
The film world premiered at the film festival and the team has been working on the film since 2014. The jury argued, among other things, that the film's two directors use an immediate, essential, and elementary film language which results in deep and repetitive sound moments and visual poetry.
