Fifth Covid Vaccine Round in Iceland
The fifth Covid vaccination in Iceland is now available. Clinics follow the recommendations that those over 60 and in high risk groups be vaccinated – but everyone is free to attend.
This is reported by RUV.
82% of Iceland’s population is vaccinated, that is to say, have received at least two doses of the Covid vaccine, according to The Directorate of Health and The Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management.
Sigríður says she does not think that booster doses of the vaccination will be required indefinitely, but rather that the need for them will diminish as weaker Covid variants emerge.
