Commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe and Africa in Norway
The commander of the US Marine Corps (USMC) in Europe and Africa, Major General Robert B. Sofge, arrived in Værnes in mid-Norway on Friday for a busy week in Norway.
The major general will visit a number of departments and staff across the country that work closely with the Marine Corps, including HV-12, according to a press release from the Norwegian Armed Forces.
"It is always important for us to develop this partnership and get better at training and operating together. We trust Norway and our many partners there as those who can give us knowledge and a better ability to operate in winter conditions," says Major General Sofge.
"It will be a busy period for all of us going forward with participation in Nordic Response. The Marine Corps will be visible in the coming months," smiles the major general.
