Access restored to Grindavik

Yesterday, access to the town of Grindavik in Iceland was increased. The eruption is still active and could still threaten infrastructure, but there has been a significant reduction in volcanic activity.

That is reported by RÙV.

The flow of lava westwards, towards Svartsengi and the Blue Lagoon, has slowed. Authorities continue measures such as lava cooling and the reinforcement of defensive barriers.

The Blue Lagoon is scheduled to reopen next Friday, November 29th.
