Evan Bloom is a senior advisor for the Centre for Oceans and the Arctic at UiT Norway's Arctic University. He is a former head of the ocean and polar division in the US State Department. He was also responsible for US diplomacy in Antarctica from 2006 to 2020, including as US Commissioner of the Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources.
